We had our first training session on the 25th of April 2008 at St. Wilfred's pitch at 11 in the morning. Was a cloudy day, so we were able to run about like headless chickens for quite a while. The effectiveness of the training session varies from person to person so I can't say much.. :P But we had fun at the very least. Some got injured but managed to live on...Our first match was on the 27th April 2008 at 11am in the morning too. This time it's at Tampines Safra. The weather...Damn HOT.
Advice: Never play between 10 am till 3 pm in Very Sunny Singapore.
The score: 1 - 3.... not in our favour..
Casualties: 2 Yellow cards, a dislocated arm and a few other cramps... It's a battlefield out there...
Our opponents: MAN U fan club.
We were leading 1 - 0 early in the first half through a fabulous edge of penalty box freekick from our midfield maestro A'an.
Our opposition managed to grab the equalizer from the spotkick after our courageous custodian had to bring down the "katek" striker. In our defence, he was already in an offside position when he brought the ball down.(First Half : 1 - 1).
Due to the hot sun shining on our "classroom conditioned" bodies, we lost our concentration early in the second half and conceded 2 more goals as the referee failed yet again to see the offside trap that we had deliberately laid.
"The bugger was literally offside!!"
Our first match = our first defeat.
The good news is there's no where to go but UP!!! Woohoo!(yeah right...)
